Conservation Internship Program
The Idaho Conservation Corps Internship program is an innovative AmeriCorps Program designed to provide hands on training and experience to those interested in pursuing employment with land and water resource management agencies, and other outdoor careers. The program is a cooperative effort designed to address community, environmental, and resource management projects.
Forestry Technician (Timber) - 900 hours
New Meadows Ranger District - New Meadows, ID
The Payette National Forest is recruiting one Forestry Technician (Timber) summer intern beginning May 30, 2017. This position will primarily complete timber sale preparation activities to support harvest activities on the Payette National Forest. This position will serve with a small Forest Service crew that works across the Forest to prepare timber sales. This position will typically work four ten hour days per week (Monday through Thurs).
Biological or Range Technician (Weed and Range) - 450HR
Idaho Panhandle National Forests - St. Joe Ranger District Saint Maries, Idaho
The St. Joe Ranger District is recruiting one Biological or Range Technician (Weed and Range) summer intern beginning June 12, 2017. Incumbent will primarily be spraying weeds via Truck, UTV, and backpack sprayers. This position will typically work four ten hour days per week (specific schedule to be determined).
Forestry Technician (Trails) - 900 hours
Boise National Forest –Lowman and Idaho City Ranger Districts
The Boise National Forest is recruiting one Forestry Technician (Trails) summer intern beginning June 1, 2017. The incumbent will be installed at the Lowman or Idaho City Ranger District Trail Crew and learn trails skills such as axe skills, trail maintenance, chainsaw and more. Position will be camping in the field on a regular basis, gear can be provided. This position will typically work 8 ten hour days every two weeks.
